Jordan DePape / RW / Kamloops WHL

Jordan DePape / Kamloops Blazers WHL

RW-R / 5-10.5, 187 / 20-Jun-92

Skating: 50 / Skill: 60 / Sense: 60 / Compete: 50 / Toughness: 40

Strengths: Excellent hands and offensive instincts. Can stickhandle in tight areas. Good shot. Quick feet and good agility.

Weaknesses: Smallish. Stride is a little short and doesn't have great speed. Behind in the development curve.

Almost a forgotten prospect, but the surge after the trade to Kamloops brought him back on the radar. Has good smarts in the offensive zone and can shoot the puck pretty well. The wasted year in the MJHL means he's a bit behind the other prospects in this draft class.

Summary: This guy caught the attention of scouts at the U-17 two seasons ago, but had trouble getting going as a 17 year old rookie for Brandon. But after the trade and the more I saw this guy in the second half, the more I started to think of this guy as a good middle round sleeper. He's got the sort of hands you usually don't find outside of the first 100 picks.

Draft Day: Should get consideration in the 5th/6th rounds.
